Kevin McCarthy was born and raised in Rhode Island.  He is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and Suffolk University Law School.   Upon graduating from Suffolk law school in 1988, Kevin began his legal career as an in-house attorney for Traveler’s Insurance corporate legal department in Boston.

Since being admitted to practice law in Massachusetts in 1988, Kevin McCarthy has dedicated the majority of his professional time to representing men and women in their matrimonial law needs, from prenuptial agreements, post nuptial and separation agreements, divorce, separation, and annulment, as well as custody and visitation, child support, spousal support and paternity, in the District, Superior and Family Courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

An experienced matrimonial litigator, Kevin combines compassion with tough advocacy. His easy going out of court style belies a fierce advocacy and sharp intellect applied in an unrelenting commitment to his clients. He offers his services to attorneys and clients on a consultation or retainer basis.

Attorney McCarthy has been a dedicated mentor, volunteer soccer coach, chairman of a local youth services corporation and has done pro bono legal services for men and women involved in family law and personal injury matters.  Every year for the past six (6) years he has participated in the Volunteer Lawyer of the Day program in the Suffolk Probate and Family Court department, thereby providing valuable services to pro se litigants, as well as contributing to the administration of cases through the department.
